Discrimination and violence against LGBTQ+ people can come in many forms, from name-calling, bullying, harassment, and gender-based violence, to being denied a job or appropriate healthcare.
Our story
As an educator and physician, Evan and Ankit witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly the distress experienced by LGBTQ+ youth due to discrimination, exclusion, and limited access to resources. Fueled by a deep sense of empathy and a desire for change, they came together and formed Outbox as a means of incubating new ideas that addressed age-old problems.
Evan and Ankit recognized the potential of technology, specifically artificial general intelligence, to address these challenges and create positive social impact. They believed that by leveraging the power of AI, they could develop innovative and ethical solutions to support the LGBTQ+ community.
Driven by their vision of a more inclusive future, the founders embarked on a journey to develop AI solutions that would be fair, equitable, and responsive to the needs of the LGBTQ+ community. They engaged in extensive research, collaborating with experts in both AI technology and LGBTQ+ advocacy to ensure their solutions were grounded in both technical excellence and lived experiences.

Our fight for LGBTQ+ youth
Every student has the right to a safe, supportive, and LGBTQ-inclusive education. But societal attitudes, discrimination, and limited support systems continually put them at risk. LGBTQ+ children often face a lack of supportive resources and networks from their families, teachers, and community. They may struggle to find understanding adults, mentors, or peers who can provide guidance and acceptance.
From discrimination, homophobia, and transphobia to disproportionate bullying and harassment, this hostile environment can hinder their ability to learn, develop healthy relationships, and thrive in and outside of the classroom.
Outbox is an organization designed specifically to support LGBTQ+ individuals. Through resources, technology, and community, Outbox provides a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ youth, teachers, and families, offering guidance, resources, and emotional support.
